DIRECTOR'S MESSAGE
Welcome to the AU/NTL Website.

Your interest suggests that you are considering whether to join more than 1200 professionals who have received our unique Master of Science in Organization Development. This 30-year old program prepares you as a professional in organization development and change. You are readied by experiential, cohort-based graduate education to support organizations worldwide as they transform systems to compete in the global economy.

Students complete our cohort-based curriculum in approximately two years.  Most of our thirteen courses meet on campus for two 3-day weekends roughly a month apart. There are two Residencies: the 10-day International Residency and the 6-day Bethel Residency. In the first year, students learn foundational elements of OD, including “use of self” at Bethel. In the second year, the curriculum emphasizes theory into practice. Students build their readiness for OD practice as they work in teams with clients in the International Residency, complete their 9-month individual field Practicum, and a comprehensive exam that demonstrates their “voice” as OD practitioners. Every cohort has two hours of Learning Community Time on class weekends to deepen their learning about human and systems dynamics within the group.

Our graduates are experts in organization development and change. They are consultants, managers, and professionals in multinational corporations, consulting firms, nonprofits, international nongovernmental organizations, government agencies, and private practice. They lead the field in their professional “use of self,” and they work with clients to manage the levers of change in human systems. Their knowledge and skills extend to action research, process consultation, group and team dynamics, diversity and cultural competence, diagnosis and change at all levels of client systems, international experience, development of client system leadership and effectiveness, and the ethical and committed practice of organization development.

Our superb faculty makes AU/NTL an outstanding choice for your professional degree. Internationally-known practitioner-scholars, our instructors are leaders in the profession. Experts in learning by doing, they bring the fruits of their global practice into the classroom. They instruct, coach, and mentor our students to fuse theory and practice.

Applications for Cohorts 58 and 59 are currently being accepted for classes starting in September 2008 and March 2009, respectively.

We welcome your interest and look forward to hearing from you.
